Sometimes we want to insert current data and time, whenever we open the file in the notepad. If you are a lazy person like me, who don’t like to press F5 whenever you open a notepad. Then here is a trick to avoid this. Just add a .LOG in the first line of your text file and close it.
Whenever you open the file with that text in the first line in the notepad, it will insert the current date and time at the end of the file. You can start entering your text after that.
Thought you would also be fascinated like me on this one. My friend taught me how to put a background of your choice on your USB flash drive. Okay here’s how:
Step 1:

Step 2:
Put “desktop.ini” file onto your flash drive and replace “your_picture” with the
name of the picture you want to use leaving the .jpg extention the same.
Step 3:
Now copy the picture that you want to use onto your flash drive.
Step 4:
Refresh (F5) or Go back to My Computer and open your flash drive again ..and enjoy with new background… Cool right!?

Some things you might not have known that are hidden inside your computer.
IExpress
A neat little install creator that lets you create installation programmes for anything. It is a simple setup creator wizard, just follow the steps. The setup programe can be .inf or an executable
Go to start and click Run. Type in : iexpress
Follow the wizard.
MS Paint
In Ms paint, you can magnify 10 *. Just click the line below the 8* magnify and there you have it, 10 *!
Telnet
This is a application that lets you connect to the internet via the command prompt. A funny sight to connect to is this starwars sight: towel.blinkenlights.nl
Clicking on the sight will not work. Go to windows, and press run
Type in : telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

Msg box
This is pretty fun to mess around with. It will display a message box.
Go to notepad
Type in:
msgbox “your message here. whatever you want”,20,”put message box title here”
Save it to “anything”.vbs
A fun thing to type is, “windows is getting tired of you, please purchase a new windows that will like you” or something like that.
Shutdown Code
This is just basically a shortcut to a computer shutdown. It is easily done. However, the shutdown can only be aborted one way so do not try to do it until you have fully read this.
Right click on your desktop. Press new link.
Type in :
shutdown -s -t 20 -c “anything here”
Press ok twice.
This will now create a shutdown exe on your desktop. Once you have opened it the computer will shutdown in 20 seconds. If you go to windows run and type
Shutdown -a
The thing will go away.
Desktop Prank
You can use this to prank your friend. When he is no looking, press the PrntScrn Button on your keyboard.
Open up paint.
Press cntrl +v
Save to picture somewhere
Now right click on your desktop and press arrange icons.
Untick: Show desktop icons
Right click on your desktop and press properties
Press wall paper
Change the wall paper to the picture you saved earlier.
Now the picture will look like a desktop but it is not clickable! Watch as your friend gets confused!
Note pad trick
There is a glitch in notepad that changes the words you typed into random Chinese syllables.
Type in any word that starts with 4 letters in notepad,
press space type a three letter word,
space again and another three letter word, space again,
finally type a five letter word. Save it to anything. Close it, and open it again.
Just remember it has to be 4-3-3-5
Cool wall paper trick (MsPaint)
To make a very cool wall paper:
Open up Ms Paint
In picture go to properties.
Type in 5 for width and 1 for height.
Magnify it 8 *
Color the pixelswith a pencil.
1 pixel a color.(you should have 5 colors)
Save it to be your desktop. MAKE SURE IT IS CENTERED.
(note: you can do more than 5)

As you all know about the new feature “Speed Dial” in Opera browser. By default you can set 9 speed dials in Opera.
But after following this small and easy tutorial, you’ll be able to increase the number of speed dials in Opera:
1. Open Opera and goto “Help -> About Opera“. It’ll open a page showing version information as well as other useful information about Opera. Check the “Paths” section and copy the path of “Opera directory“:
2. Close Opera and paste the path in RUN dialog box or Explorer addressbar and press Enter. It’ll open the Opera profile directory.
3. You’ll see a file “speeddial.ini” in the folder. Open the file in Notepad and add following lines at last of the file:
In the above code, 4 and 5 are just examples. You can replace them with your desired numbers.
4. Save the file and open Opera. Now you’ll be able to see more speed dials in Opera.
PS: If you can’t see “speeddial.ini” file in Opera profile directory, then make sure you have set at least one speed dial in Opera.
Got bored of folder’s background? Here is some work for you. Adding a wallpaper picture as background to your file folders’ file panes lets you easily recognize and differentiate folder windows in Windows Vista or in Windows XP – particularly if you have system backup folders on a removable disk or network drive with labels identical to the original drives on your own hard drive.Two steps for adding a wallpaper as background for folder’s in Windows Vista.First of all resize your wallpaper picture to the size of your folder part or folder window size and then add wallpaper picture to a folder in Win Vista or in Win XP.
The steps for this trick is given:
1.Open a folder in your computer, choose Tools > Folder > Options, and click the View tab
2.Select the option “Show hidden files and folders” (you may need to double-click Hidden files and folders first)
3.Uncheck “Hide protected operating system files” (This step is recommended for this trick) and click Yes when you see the warning
4.Then click OK, and double-click the file named desktop.ini to open it in your text editor . If you can’t find a desktop.ini file, launch Notepad from your computer.
5.In your text editor, type or copy:

Restart your computer and open the folder and see the fruits of your work.

Save it as batch file(with extension .bat). You can use any name. Ex(name.bat).
Now you see a batch file. Double click it to create a folder locker.
A new folder named Locker would be formed at the same location.
Now brings all the files you want to hide in the locker folder.
Now double click the batch file to lock the folder namely Locker.
If you want to unlock your files,double click the batch file again and you would be prompted for password.Enter the password and enjoy access to the folder.
